Thought I would share the pictures from our first camping trip with JAACK. He did good, was nervous at first but really loved the long walks and trying to figure out where the squirrels go. He Loved sleeping in the pop up and was a good boy once he found his spot--3 kids, 2 grown ups and 2 dogs in a pop up = find your spot and stay put till morning. He did think he had to let us know when ever a fellow camper would walk past our sight--that got old fast as Pepper never barks but he learned to let us know and let it be. He is such a big baby but he looks so tough you could see people go to the other side of the road when he would bark. If they only knew if they walked at him he would run and hide

Oh one other thing I wanted to inquire about and maybe it always happens and we can't see it on Pepper but every mosquitoe bite on JAAACK got big and raised. I finally broke down and sprayed him with the kids spray cause I felt so bad for the fellow. He really reacted to them or they all do and I never noticed before. Any one else with same experience and what do you do????

Yes, you will notice the bites on the boxers more. It is because of the short/course hairs, they raise easier. You can give him a benadryl if they still seem irritated. They make natural bug spray for dogs. I have some called "flea the scene", repels fleas, mosquitos, flies and it a sun screen too! You can also used diluted skin so soft:) Remember to check you and the pups for ticks, they are awful here this year. The bugs love my babies and me too! I am glad he had a nice time.

Thanks for the reminder on ticks--I was very diligent at the sight because of Peppers diagnosis of Lymes last year. Not one was found on a man or animal but one was on the bed in the am when I went to make them--YUCK. Nice to know they make stuff for dogs. I didn't like spraying him with the kids stuff but they were brutal looking.

Great pics! It looks like Pepper and JAACK had a blast on the camping trip. I would LOVE to have seen a pic of that tent with the whole gang inside:)haha!

Hope the bug bites have gone down. I can't stand bugs, but I guess you just gotta put up with it to enjoy the outdoors.
